Kopiyka Budget — Terms of Use
Last updated: 12 September 2026
Kopiyka Budget ("Kopiyka", the app) is an open-source app published by its maintainer ("the developer"). The source code and the issue tracker are at the repository linked below.
The licence
Kopiyka is licensed, not sold, to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement — the standard EULA that applies to every app on the App Store where the developer has not supplied one of their own:
https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
In the language of that agreement, Kopiyka is the "Licensed Application", you are the "End-User", and the developer of Kopiyka is the "Application Provider" — the licensor. Apple is not the licensor; Apple is the distributor, and is a third-party beneficiary of the agreement, which means Apple may enforce it against you. Support and any product claims are the developer's responsibility, not Apple's.
That agreement covers the usual ground: scope of the licence, the devices you may use it on, restrictions on reverse engineering the distributed binary, warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, and termination. Read it there rather than a paraphrase of it here.
What follows adds only the points specific to this app, which the standard agreement leaves open.
Price
Kopiyka is free. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no paid tiers, and no advertising. Nothing in the app is unlocked by payment, now or later.
What the app is for
Kopiyka is a personal record-keeping tool. It stores numbers you type in and does arithmetic on them.
It is not financial, tax, accounting, investment, or legal advice, and nothing it shows you — a budget, an insight card, a projection, a total — is a recommendation. Decisions about your money are yours. If a figure matters, check it against your bank's own statement.
Your data is your responsibility
Everything Kopiyka stores lives on your device. It sends nothing to the developer, who therefore holds no copy of your data and cannot restore it for you. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is stored and where.
Kopiyka can write backups into your own iCloud Drive, and this is strongly recommended — but iCloud is Apple's service, not the developer's. Whether a backup uploads, stays available, or can be read back depends on your iCloud account, your storage quota, your network, and Apple's service. Keeping a copy of your own data is ultimately your responsibility. Settings → Data management can export everything at any time as JSON, CSV, or a ZIP that includes your receipt photos; do that before anything irreversible, such as replacing your data with a file or resetting the app.
Exchange rates
When Kopiyka needs to convert between currencies it uses European Central Bank reference rates, fetched from a free public service. These are indicative reference rates. They are not the rate your bank or card issuer will actually apply to a transaction, they may be a day old or older, and no guarantee is made about their accuracy or availability. Where the app can use a figure your bank itself printed, it prefers that figure over a converted one.
The Shortcuts automation is beta
Kopiyka can be set up, through Apple's Shortcuts app, to read payment notifications your bank sends you and turn them into entries. This feature is beta.
It works by parsing the text of a notification — banks word their notifications however they like, and change that wording without warning. So it may misread an amount, pick the wrong shop or account, miss a payment entirely, or occasionally record something that was not a payment. Entries it creates are deliberately held in the Pending queue for exactly this reason. Review them before you rely on them.
Kopiyka has no connection to your bank and cannot make, stop, or alter any payment.
Open source
Kopiyka's source code is published. The licence that governs the source code is stated in the repository and is separate from this page: this page governs your use of the app as distributed through the App Store, while the repository's licence governs what you may do with the code.

Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the updated version is published at this address with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it. If you do not, delete the app.
Governing law
These additional terms are governed by the laws of Poland, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and without limiting any consumer rights you have under the law of the country in which you live — including, if you are in the European Union, the consumer protections that apply there regardless of this clause.
